Mrs. Becky brings her experience with children and education in and has designed an intriguing science/history based curriculum for her students where they engage in hands on experiments and art learning and understanding why things work as they do and how history helps us to understand and progress.
Mrs. Becky received her Bachelor’s of Science, Animal Science, specializing in Equine Science, from Southern Illinois University in 2000. She found herself taking on the roll of teacher as she helped her peers to understand the material at hand and understand the nature of animals in their care. She obtained her Master’s in Education in 2010.
Mrs. Becky began her journey with GMMS fourteen years ago as a substitute and head of our after school program.
She is an active community member volunteering with the Vermont Food Shelf and gathering essential items for those less fortunate. During the summer she volunteers her time training green horses at her parent’s home in Mississippi. She spends her free time with her husband John, son Colby, daughter Candice and her three high octane dogs walking, hiking, playing the guitar, gardening and cooking. During her down time she loves reading pre 20th century novels and is currently working on her short stories for children.
